Afrin under occupation (155):

The occupied villages of “Miskeh – Fawqani and Tahtani”, the private prison of „Iska for “Sham Legion”, chaos and sporadic violations

Suleiman Soylu, Turkey’s Interior Minister, chose the first day of Eid al-Adha – “because of its symbolism” – to go to the regions of Afrin and Azaz – northern Syria, accompanied by other officials and the governors of Hatay and Kilis, illegally and contrary to international law, where he visited security departments and buildings with special considerations, raising the Turkish flag and pictures of Ataturk and Erdogan, such as the old government palace building in Afrin, and he took pictures of it including Turkish symbols, with a neo-Ottoman expansionist tendency; In a new affirmation of the occupation and responsibility for the two areas and the violation of Syrian sovereignty, the visit refutes the claims of the “Guarantor Astana” countries about “the unwavering commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.”

Below we monitor some of the violations and crimes committed by Turkey and its supporters in Afrin, which confirm what we have previously stated:

= The village of Miskeh – Fawqani “Miskê Jorin”:

It consisted of / 70 / houses, and its population was / 450 / inhabitants of the original Kurdish people and an Arab family consisting of two brothers and fifteen people who lived in the village after the implementation of the agricultural reform law at the end of the fifties of the last century, about 60 of whom were forcibly displaced during the war years And before that, and about 45 people were forcibly deported to al-Shahba and Aleppo, and the rest chose to stay in the village, and about 30 families of recruiters in addition to a number of militia families were settled in the houses of the displaced that were seized, as well as in the tents that were set up on the outskirts of the village.

During the aggression on Afrin region, Turkish warplanes targeted the water station located at the top of a mountain north of the village, which was feeding the villages of “Goran, Jaqeleh Jumeh, Miskeh Tahtani and Miskeh Fawqani” with drinking water, and completely destroyed it, as well as completely destroying the house of citizen “Idris Bakr”.

After the Turkish forces invaded and occupied the village, they prevented the displaced people from returning to it for four months, on the pretext of not approaching its military and security headquarters, after that, it withdrew from it and handed it over to the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, which allowed the people to gradually return after a week, during which they stole the contents of the houses, including supplies, copper and glass utensils, tools and electrical equipment, furniture, etc., and / 3 / agricultural tractors belonging to “Manan Hassan, Muhammad Muhammad nicknamed “Abu Antar”, and Hassan Hajj Suleiman, and the entire contents of Aref Manan’s house with all doors and windows, and then they burned it, dozens of motorcycles and groups to pump water wells, and thousands of pallets of burlap bags from the assembly building belonging to the former Autonomous Administration, and their value is estimated at / 75 / million Syrian pounds, and the contents of the municipality building, as well as all cables and trans- cables of the public electricity network, and all components of the “Syria Tel” tower. for cell phone.

And a perennial oak tree (Gêlberî) in the valley of “Jimek”, as well as cutting the two small forests of “Horik and Khoja”, located after the forest of “Hesê”.

The families were subjected to various types of violations, including arrest, kidnapping, torture and the payment of ransoms, such as the kidnapping of the young man “Dilshad Hassan” from his home in the village and his release for a ransom of $25,000, and the young man, “Joan Hassan, 32,” was arrested more than once after raiding his father’s house each time, while their personal belongings were broken and stolen, the last time he was kidnapped and disappeared for more than two months until he was released in exchange for a ransom of thousands of dollars, he was forced to go to Aleppo to treat his eye that blew out under torture, and he still needs to perform other operations; On August 3, 2019, the young man, “Hanan Khalil Jindo, 32 years old”, was arrested near the village junction while returning with his motorcycle from his work in Jenderes.

The militias also impose a royalty on every house inhabited by its owner and on every agricultural machinery on a monthly or seasonal basis.

During the olive season, the militias put their supervisor on the village olive press belonging to “Fawzi Hassan” to collect their percentage of the production as a royalty, in addition to imposing a royalty of /2/$ on each olive tree from the property of the absentees and a percentage of 40%/ of the production of the property of the absentees accused of belonging to ” Democratic Union Party”.

The recruits graze their herds among the agricultural fields in an unjust manner and without supervision or accountability.

In defense of the village and its surroundings, during the aggression against it, /4/ female fighters and /7/ Kurdish fighters were martyred, the bodies of some of them remained under the rubble and others remained uncovered for months, until they were buried by the “civil police” in the village cemetery after the insistence of the people and with the participation of some of their sons.
