Afrin under occupation (150):
The abandoned village of “Chei” and the violated village of “Joqeh”, victims of the bombing of Afrin, the bombing of a car
Despite all the tragedies that affected many areas of northern Syria as a result of the Turkish occupation and the spread of chaos, corruption, violations and crimes in them, Nasr Hariri, head of the Syrian Brotherhood Alliance, unabashedly called in a letter addressed to President Erdogan for Turkish military intervention and the occupation of the areas of Tel Rifaat and Manbij in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
The following are documented facts:
= Chei “Çê” Village:
It sits at the top of Hawar Mountain, which rises at about 800 m above sea level, and is 30 km north of the city of Afrin.
It consists of 47 houses, in which about 200 indigenous Kurdish citizens lived, and it is now deserted, and only one family (7 members) returned to it due to the transformation of the village into a Turkish military base, another 15 families were prevented from returning to the village and forced to live in the city and nearby villages while the rest were forcibly displaced outside the area.
At first, the “Ahfad al-Rasul” militia entered the village and later withdrew from it, and they stole the contents of all the houses, including supplies, tools, mattresses, fixtures, copper pots, gas cylinders, etc., and all cables, poles, and transformers of the public electricity network, and agricultural machinery (1/ Farm rail, /2 / tractor’s trolley, /2/ Tractor’s plow), and /3/ electric generating sets, and two pickup for citizens “Walid Bako, Manan Hanan”, and the whole contents of the primary school in the village.
Soldiers and officers of the Turkish base (containing medium and light weapons) reside in the houses of the village, and there are also approximately 40 tents (200 people) for sheep breeders and shepherds from recruiters in its vicinity, who spread their flocks (more than 5,000 heads) in the mountain and between the agricultural fields without any of the people daring to object.
The perimeter of the village (about 500 m) and (200 m) wide was bulldozed by the Turkish army in the name of establishing a military base, which led to the uprooting of about /1500/ grape bushes and /400/ olive trees and trees of figs, almonds and berries, in addition to that /15/ perennial Oak trees were cut down in the village cemetery, which was also vandalized and tampered with by the militias.
/ 6 / thousand olive trees belonging to the original residents of the village, the militias prevented their owners from benefiting from them, / 2500 / olive trees were burned, and / 400 / olive trees were seized by the militia of the “Sultan Murad Division” in “Gulguleh” valley, as for the rest of the trees, the owners pay 10% of its production as a royalty to the militia.
As for Hawar mountain, whose area is estimated at 100 hectares, which had virgin natural forests of oaks, wild olives, arbutus, hawthorn and phillyrea, and which was like a reserve for wild animals, it was exposed to numerous fires three years ago, which devoured about 30% of its vegetation cover, and the militias cut down the entire remainder of the trees for firewood and coal industry, all that by the various militias of the “National Army” controlling the villages surrounding the mountain (Afrazeh, Kobek, Dibeh, Hasandera, Qaragule, Khalilaka, Zfingeh, Dikeh, Goliya).
In the villages of “Afrazeh and Kobek” alone, there are twenty coal-making hogs, and as a result only tree trunks and thin branches remain in the mountain.
The remaining families in the area were unable to return to their homes, despite their repeated attempts and submission of numerous complaints to the “Local Councils and the Grievances Committee”.
= Joqeh “Coqê” village:
It is affiliated to the city of Afrin and is 8 km away from it, and it consists of /500/ houses, in which were about two thousand original Kurdish residents lived, about /1500/ people of them remained after the occupation, and about 300 recruiters were resettled there.
During the war, the house of the late Zaki Arab “Abu Jamal” was partially damaged.
The militias controlling the village are the “Al-Ghab Brigade – Al-Hamzat Division”, and they use the municipality building and “Al-Markh” site near the village as their military headquarters; During its invasion of the village, the contents of most of the houses were stolen from: supplies, tools and equipment of solar energy, glass and copper utensils, gas cylinders, etc., and all cables, poles, equipment for the electricity and public landline networks, and the drinking water pumping set.
The militias also seized about 10,000 olive trees belonging to the absent and forcibly displaced citizens of the village, including 2,000 trees belonging to the sons of “Kamal Muhammad Nour” and a thousand trees belonging to the “Jenker” family, and it also shares the owner of the olive press – the citizen “Ezzeldin Othman Durai’i”- forcibly, while the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militias share the olive press of the citizen “Khaled Abdel-Qader” located in the village junction, in addition to imposing a royalty estimated at 10-15%/ of the olive seasons production.
In addition, a monthly tax of /7/TL is imposed on each house in the name of “cleaning fee” and /10 Turkish Lira for each shop.
The original residents of the village were subjected to various types of violations, including kidnapping and arrests of dozens of their sons for various terms, fines and ransoms with exposure to torture, including Dr. Riyad Manla Muhammad, who was arrested in September 2018 and forcibly disappeared until his release on 7/3/2021, the militia had seized (“Hawar” mountain Cafeteria, Friends School) belonging to him, as well as the arrest and disappearance of the two brothers, “Idris and Hanan Arab Bakr” for two months, who were released last week; The citizen “Mohammed Al-Hajj Ali” from the village was martyred in the explosion of a transport vehicle inside Al-Hal Market – Afrin on 16/12/2018.
The archaeological sites (Tel Joqeh behind the village cemetery, Tel Ain Dibeh in the eastern plain of the village, the shrine of Sheikh Jamal al-Din) were excavated and exhumed with heavy machinery and their buried treasures were stolen under the supervision of Turkish intelligence.
The militias and some recruits continue to cut down olive trees in the plains of the village unjustly, including 25 trees for the family of the late Abdul Rahman Othman, 110 trees for Jamil Ahmed Hussein, 100 trees for the late Ahmed Manla Muhammad and 40. A tree for the sons of “Muharram” and /150/ for “Akram Hajj Ali”, as well as the uprooting of /100 large +90 small/ trees for “Raouf Mustafa” and /220/ trees for “Fakhri Bakr – from the village of Dumilya”, in addition to the overgrazing of sheep herds between agricultural fields, and the thefts that affected the seasons of olives, fruits and others.
= dead and wounded victims:
On Saturday evening, June 12, 2021 AD, the city of Afrin was targeted with two batches of rocket-propelled grenades fired from the side of the Syrian army forces, without hitting any military point, as some of them fell in agricultural lands and others on the hospital “Al-Shifa – formerly Afrin” and a number of houses, it led as a result to the destruction of a large part of the hospital, severe damage to homes, the death of /22/ and dozens of injuries of varying degrees, most of them civilians, including women, children and medical staff, as well as sparking a state of terror among the residents.
Among the people of Afrin were the following martyrs:
1- Anesthesia technician, Amin Qosho son of Sidu, 55 years old, from the village of Khalnireh, as a result of a shell falling near his house near the Marateh roundabout.
2- Zaloukh Hanan Muhammad, 85 years old, from the village of Marateh, as a result of the fall of a shell on Al-Malaab Street near Fatayer Rashid – next to her house.
3- Malak Othman Khalil, 60, from the village of Khalil, as a result of a shell falling on the basement of a residential building, south of Al-Tijaria Park.

6- The girl “Lana Mustafa Al-Amiri”.
7- And her little sister, “Lian Mustafa Al-Amiri,” of the Arab component, as a result of shells falling on the hospital.
The houses of “Omran Sheikh Deh Dou, near the Marateh roundabout, and Khalil Hamo in the southern villas” were damaged.
In the evening of the same day, and until midnight, the Turkish army continued its intensive bombardment of the vicinity of the villages of the areas of “Robariya and Sherawa” which are under the control of the Syrian army, which resulted in the injury of the child “Issa Muhammad Issa 12 years old” from the village of “Aqibeh”, and on the next day they bombed the town of Tal Rifaat, causing material damage to some houses.
= On Tuesday 15/6/2021 AD, a booby-trapped taxi exploded at the junction of the village of “Kafar Janeh” – Shara / Sharran, where there is a checkpoint for the “Syrian Front” militia, which led to the killing of two people, and the injury of others, and material damage to some shops.
The silence of some Kurds about the orientations and policies of the Syrian-Brotherhood coalition, which are loyal to Turkey and are hostile to the presence and existence of the Kurds in Syria, is a suspicious matter and a matter of disapproval and disgust.
