Afrin under occupation (135) special
Three years of the Turkish occupation … / 161 / victims (martyrs and murdered civilians), including / 29 / children and / 18 / women
Three years have passed since the Turkish occupation of Afrin – the far northwest of Syria – with the participation of the so-called (Syrian National Free Army) and militias associated with the Syrian-Brotherhood coalition, on March 18, 2018 AD, and covered by the fatwas of “Imam al-Khatib” and “extremist Muslim scholars” and The Syrian Islamic Council – Istanbul … Violations and perpetration of various crimes are still continuing, with systematic steps and new racist-Ottoman policies and expansionist ambitions for Ankara and its rulers, the most prominent title of which is the implementation of demographic change, preventing the return of about / 200 / thousands of its original inhabitants from the areas of displacement and the interior areas from Syria, who were forcibly displaced by the hostilities during the invasion, except for those who were previously displaced, and the resettlement of approximately / 500 / thousand people from the families of the militia gunmen and those recruited from Ghouta and the countryside of Homs, Hama, Idlib and Aleppo there, so that the Kurdish presence decreased from 95% to below / 20% / currently.
In light of the sustainable chaos, which clearly reveals the lies and allegations of the rulers of Turkey and their fanatics about the availability of safety and stability in the Syrian areas they occupied, and except of the missing, kidnapped, and the forcibly disappeared detainees, there are / 161 / martyrs and murdered civilians from the people of Afrin region, who lost their lives under occupation (March 18, 2018 AD – March 17, 2021 AD), among them / 29 / children and / 18 / women, were killed or died in various circumstances, under torture or live bullets, and some of them by explosions, landmines, or execution, or while crossing to Turkey or by bombing the areas of displacement of Afrin IDPs (villages and towns of al-Shahba and Shirawa – north of Aleppo), except for those who died due to the explosion of landmines in the areas of displacement or under psychological pressures and harsh living conditions resulting from the occupation and its consequences, ……. and they are:

Crimes against civilians that rise to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity call for condemnation from all parties that declare their commitment to human rights principles, and to conduct independent and impartial investigations, especially by the independent international investigation committee on Syria, to uncover those responsible for them and those who carry them out, and to act, and to punish them and compensate the victims’ families morally and financially, as the Turkish occupation authorities and the terrorist militias loyal to them record most of the violations and crimes against unknown persons or bypass in formal procedures, so that the criminals get away without punishment, in addition to forcing the families of the victims to concede and formal reconciliation in many cases; People are constantly being intimidated to push them towards forced migration.
Ankara government remains fully responsible for what is happening in the region and for the rights of its people, as it is a military occupation and has effective control, but it does not take practical, legal and security measures to protect the lives of civilians, but rather it covers the actions of its army and its militia mercenaries, and protects them and encourages them to hostility to the Kurds wherever they are. In doing so, they are committing serious violations of international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter and international agreements.
The people of Afrin are calling on the United Nations institutions, the UN Security Council, international forces active in the Syrian arena, human rights and civil organizations and various media outlets to play their role in putting an end to violations and crimes and helping the Syrian people forcibly displaced to return to their homes and take control of their property safely, and work hard to end the Turkish occupation and defeat the extremist terrorist militias, in order for Afrin to return to Syrian sovereignty and manage its people.
